Communications Department

Classes in all subject areas encourage the proper and creative use of language. Specialized courses in English and Spanish develop reading, writing, listening, speaking and viewing skills.

Lower Level:

  • Integrated English

  • Spanish

Upper Level:

  • English A (Composition)

  • English B (Literature)

  • Spanish (4th Form Only)

Most students are able to complete the Spanish CXC syllabus by the end of second form. Spanish in the upper level focuses on polishing the student's communication skills. Students are exposed to Spanish, Latin American and Hispanic literature and current media.

Student reading is encouraged and facilitated by economic book rentals and the Reading Program. Annual events include the Evening of Drama and the Spelling Bee.
